the sims 4 faust legacy: gen 2 (part 2)
Despite having built a basic house, I completely forgot to renovate the Gym because I got so engrossed in playing with the family. This trend will continue as I hit a second milestone goal in this update so note to self: don't forget to renovate Oasis Springs before diving into Part 3!
That 40k we made last time disappeared quickly into the house, but at least Evadne and Youssef put it all to good use with their personal hobbies and goals! Unfortunately, those passions don't really bring in the big bucks so I imagine that saving up to complete the vision for their home is going to take a bit more time.
It wouldn't be a legacy without a fire! Now both parents-to-be are scared of it happening again. The experience must have sent his life flashing before his eyes, because Youssef rolled the want to ask Evadne to be his girlfriend, which she was more than happy to say yes to as a romantic! Shortly after, she gave birth to their daughter and the Generation 3 heir: Beatrice Faust.
Since I'm not a creative builder, the exterior is a copy of the house next door, but I'll be changing things up once the backyard and second story expansion come together. I want it to look as though it fits in the world while developing more confidence in my adding my own ideas to the mix. Baby steps! The newborn days were super breezy so Youssef focused on trying to cook and sell as much stuff as possible, but it was a little slow going. At least the fridge was stocked!
Beatrice aged into an Infant with the Intense trait and immediately developed the quirks Loves to Be Held and Hates Wake Up Time. I cannot get over how stinking cute her little bee outfit looks. Yousseff and Evadne were doing a great job taking care of her for the day when they received a call from Prospera that they would be staying over to help out with the baby. Cool, cool, cool. Except... the first arrivals were the cats, Midnight and Starlight?? I laughed so hard, especially when a couple hours of in game time passed and that was it. Just cats. So I spent a bunch of our funds adding cat care items - not that big of a deal because as a Cat Lover, Evadne was going to adopt one of her own eventually. Then, finally, Prospera and Imane arrived with their luggage and I had to spend more money to get them a big, comfortable tent to sleep in since there wasn't really space for a proper guest room.
If the cat situation wasn't weird enough on its own, here's something that made this stay over even worse: around the same time that Evadne got pregnant, Imane called asking if she thought it would be a good idea for them to have another kid. I thought, you know what, that's a huge age gap between siblings, but you two deserve to live your happiest life. But when everyone came over... there was no baby. Huh. That's weird, I thought. Then the next day, this little boy popped into the house out of no where. I guess newborns don't join, but as soon as he aged up, the game sent him to the lot. Anyway, meet Martin Faust.
And here's thing, given that Prospera and Imane beelined for the fridge full of waffles and pizza, and made themselves comfortable in Evadne's bed to watch the Romance channel on TV (not a euphemism), this visit left most of the childcare in Evadne and Youssef's hands anyway. Except, instead of just caring for their daughter, they were now also charged with raising a baby brother. Just look at Prospera taking all the credit as though she isn't mooching off all of the toys her daughter bought!
Evadne was constantly repairing plumbing issues (not the worst thing since she needs to raise her handiness to get to the Forgotten Grotto) and Youssef was cleaning up all the dirty diapers, empty bottles, and litterbox messes. Meanwhile, Prospera, suddenly forgetting all of her parenting skills and adopting the AI mind of a Sims 2 character, kept putting Martin outside on the ground. Even Midnight was concerned.
While Beatrice whizzed through her milestones despite hating every second of tummy time they put her through, Evadne spent long days and nights building her first rocket. She finally upgraded it enough to safely get into space, though she barely made it back unscathed.
Despite everything, Beatrice grew up surrounded by loving family members who watched her sit up, crawl, and learn to stand (Prospera taking far more credit than what was due.) After the grandmas, cats, and Martin all went home, Evadne and Youssef celebrated a quiet birthday to welcome their daughter into Toddlerhood. She earned the Top Notch Infant trait and... became Fussy. Oh boy. Here we go again!
