the sims 4 faust legacy: gen 2 (part 1)
Prospera has passed the torch onto Evadne for official beginning of Generation 2. Obviously she's had the benefit of living into Young Adulthood at her parents house in order to complete Prospera's Aspiration, which means I've already started chipping away at some goals for Oasis Springs. I'm anticipating this is going to be a relatively breezy portion of the legacy journey.
As a refresher, here are Evadne's long list of traits:
- Romantic, Cat Lover, Music Lover, Perfectionist, Ambitious, Good
- Entrepenurial, Highflier, Idea Person, Top Notch Infant, Good Manners, Savant, Professional, The Knowledge, Chess Master, Responsible, High Self-Esteem, Happy Toddler, Quick Learner, Graduated High School Early
Now that she's moving out on her own, she has quit her job as a Musician, adopted the Nerd Brain Aspiration, and moved into a lot in Parched Prospects, Oasis Springs with a grand total of $0 to her name. My thoughts were that she could dig around town, busk for tips at the lounge, and put her vast array of creative skills to use for money.
Here are the next set of goals for Oasis Springs:
- Build a House (kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom, and kid's room) | Unlocks Gym Renovation (must include a pool)
- Complete Aspiration | Unlocks Lounge Renovation DONE
- Raise Gen 3 Heir | Unlocks Park Renovation
- Strike it Rich | Unlocks Bar Renovation (as a restaurant)
- Access Sylvan Glade, Forgotten Grotto, and Sixam | Unlocks Museum Renovation (as a vacation lot)
Since Evadne moved at the onset of winter, it was a rainy welcoming to her new desert home. With a quick renovation of the Lounge (build courtesy of the Gallery - apologies that I forgot to make note of the maker!) to cultivate a downtown Vegas aesthetic, she set up to earn tips and... despite her high skill level, it was just not happening. People were giving her a couple dollars here and there, which was enough to buy a pretzel, but not much else. She tried to sleep at the park to no avail since music was blasting from the speakers so it was a fairly miserable first day and a wake up call that no matter how many skills she had, or how she had climbed the entertainment career, this was not going to be easy going for making her own riches.
After selling as many collectibles as possible, Evadne had enough for a tent to get out of the rain. It took another day or so to save up enough from digging, busking, and selling knitwear for a small shack with a toilet, mini fridge, and shower. Both Prospera and Imane stopped by, each picking up a key to come and go as they please. Even though music wasn't really paying for shelter, it still brought her a lot of peace.
Since she did not have a stove to cook with, Evadne spent Harvestfest at her parents' house with Youseff - who, for some reason, was the only one to actually sit the nicely set table. They had a cozy night in and, after selling some bigger ticket animal clothes, she was finally able to buy a bed and close off the bathroom. Despite cultivating a crowd at the lounge, people still weren't tipping much. The lady at the front, who hates children, sat down at the piano afterward and played some abysmal music with the points of her index fingers. The nerve!
Winterfest brought a lot of good cheer to Evadne. She visited her moms again to exchange presents and have a warm meal. Upon returning home, Clement appeared and gave her a painting worth a significant sum of money leading to a small house expansion for a proper kitchen set up. Youseff was acting kind of odd. He was either gloomy, angry, or bored around Evadne even when she tried to cheer him up. I was about to give up on him when, out of the blue, he asked her if he could move in. Sure, why not? Maybe their romance won't last in the long run, but they could be platonic life partners if things don't work out right?
Um... he was loaded. I thought he was moving in with just the cash he had on hand since he had been living alone, but when I was casually expanding the house with the budget I thought they had, I saw the household inventory had another 20k worth of items in it. So... they kind of weren't in rags for very long at all. BUT, there's still plenty of growing to do before they can check off the "Strike it Rich" tab. I'm thinking... they need a pool, a small garden, a second story to the house, higher quality items, more decor. Even though we're due to renovate the Gym now, the Bar will have to wait!
As a reminder, Youseff is a Book Lover, Goofball, and Neat sim. His Aspiration is to be an Appliance Whiz, which is very fun! I've never fully completed that one and it gave me a good reason to put a lot of money into the kitchen.
With Youseff settled in, Evadne tried for a baby and gave him the news: generation 3 is on the way! He was very excited and more than ready to step into domestic life cooking up a storm and keeping the house tidy. No more boredom. As for Evadne, hopefully she doesn't completely lose touch with her creativity and ambitions now that she doesn't have to work so hard in life.
