the sims 4 faust legacy: gen 1 (part 4)

After a personal hiatus, I am finally back to playing the Sims and completely loving it again. In the last update, Evadne aged into a young adult bringing the end of this generation in sight. Away from the blog, I logged several play sessions, but it was mostly a work grind to clear Prospera's Successful Lineage Aspiration - requiring one of her children or grandchildren to reach the top of their career.

Evadne joined the Entertainer career to pursue her love of music, but the early pathway for this was not her cup of tea since she was far from the silly, goofball of the family. For the most part, the family continued to be a tight knit group celebrating the holidays, such as this New Year's Eve moment, mentoring each other in various skills, and taking turns showering the cats with affection. As a gloomy sim, Imane needed more time to herself to decompress and would often chill out with the cats or tend to her greenhouse out back. There was also still plenty of drama, but they always came out just fine.

Speaking of some of those highs and lows, as a Renaissance Sim, Evadne suffered periodic bouts of burnout from picking up too many creative skills: piano, violin, guitar, painting, knitting, cooking. Around the same time, Imane went through a midlife crisis determined to make her magnum opus. Having so many creative sims in one family must have put a lot of pressure on them. Tension was high, even among the cats (who had their one and only big fight at the time), and another fire. I think each of them has had a turn putting one out now.

While taking a break, Evadne went to the renovated library where she met a cute librarian named Youseff Choukri and they hit it off breezily. She had a string of very unsuccessful attempts at getting to know friends from high school more, but they all had deal breaker traits that led to them drifting apart (Hates Children? Evil? Erratic?) As a Book Lover, Goofball, and Neat sim, Youseff felt like home.

Of course, Prospera still had her own mission to complete for her generation: attaining immortality. It took many duels and digging through the market stalls to finally attain Master Rank and find the potion she had been seeking. Too bad the Sages didn't try the same thing, because they were dropping like flies on the lot.

I was tense as she brewed the potion with the only batch of ingredients she had managed to purchase, but the first batch was a one-and-done success. And after taking some time off with her moms to get away from the sound of the piano, Evadne finally climbed the last rung of her career: at such a young age, she was a Concert Virtuoso!

It took a while, but we met all of our goals for this branch:

That takes us to the end of this generation. I'm going to miss Prospera, but she will pop into plenty of future households. Assuming she doesn't burn the house down. With Willow Creek fully renovated, Evadne is ready to move out to Oasis Springs.
