the sims 4 faust legacy: gen 1 (part 2)
Since I last checked in, the Faust family has been doing a lot of parenting, saving money, and, well, dealing with save file bugs.
Evadne's infant life stage was easy breezy. Even though she was wiggly, hated being picked up, and hated waking up from sleep, she hit all of her milestones just in time to blow out the candles. Prospera and Imane did their best to split the work evenly so that they both had time for their creative pursuits. There was one dramatic instance with a burglar trying to sneak in, but they were promptly beaten up by an officer.
As a toddler, however, there were so many challenges. Evadne rolled Wild and was both a light sleeper and early riser, which meant she was constantly waking up well before her energy meter had actually replenished. Still, painting was bringing in a lot of money and things were going well until the game started freezing. I tried multiple times, which led to repeating the same milestones (potty training, reading, dancing) over and over again. So I did what I usually do when I experience bugs like these: repair, comb through my mods, delete the cache, and move to a new lot.
Honestly, we were about ready to move anyway because the house was starting to feel a little cramped and if one of our goals was to "strike it rich" we needed to live in a neighborhood and lot size that would match that. I sold off all of the furniture, bulldozed Umbrage Manor, and set off to build loosely following a blueprint by elfishlyamie. It was very sparsely furnished at first, but that was the incentive I needed to get to work.
After enough hours of painting to send Prospera into creative burnout for 24 hours, Evadne finally completed her main toddler milestones in time for the birthday announcement. I didn't complete all of them or max every skill, but it was enough to get the Happy Toddler trait. I love the progression of her outfits so much. She's such a fun little kid so it was fitting that she rolled Music Lover so that I could assign her the Creative Genius aspiration (my first time doing it!) While she went to school, her moms built a tree house out back and saved up to redo her bedroom with more toys, a desk, and a violin. It was smooth sailing through her creative skill requirements, but it was a little tricky saving up for a telescope so that she could stargaze and develop her mental skills, especially while trying not to get burnout again.
I'm a little sad so much of Evadne childhood has been spent in late autumn and winter, because spring and summer are so much fun with kids in the house (toddler pools, water slides, swing sets!) But at least she was able to build a snow person, stay up late to meet Clementine and exchange gifts, and complete her new years resolution.
After Winterfest, I remembered that Prospera is supposed to become immortal as one of the challenge goals. Whoooops! So I rushed over to Glimmerbrook so that she could become a sorcerer and start leveling up her skills and gather ingredients. She's not allowed to use these powers to make money, however. A scruberoo or two is fine, but there will be no copypasto for extra simoleons.
Looking ahead to her aspiration, it's also possible that Evadne might not be the next Rags to Riches heir since I need her to complete a career for Prospera's aspiration. So I think we'll be in Willow Creek all the way until Evadne has climbed that ladder. Of course, I could turn aging off and keep her a Young Adult, but she'd have saved up all this money from a career already so I'm a little torn on how to approach it. But that's future Arden's problem to sort out.
